September has almost come and gone without a SINGLE post from me! A major slowing of pace in work schedule starting next week should provide more time for taking pictures, and more time to post them. Thanks to those of you still checking in, and your patience will be rewarded!

A sneak peak at some photos of "to-be-weds" Claire and Greg, taken last month on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We were racing the sun to capture the beautiful light of dusk on the beach, and I think we got some real keepers. Not only did I get to take some dear shots of them, but I get to be IN their wedding! Can't beat that.

*Toot Toot*

That's the sound of me tooting my own horn... but I wanted to write a post to celebrate! My tulip photo (now the main image at the top of the blog) won second place in the Charlottesville Photography Meetup Group's annual photography contest! There were dozens of really beautiful and interesting pictures entered, and I'm really flattered. Thanks to the CPMG and to Pro Camera for supplying the prizes.

Martyn and Maia have plenty of reasons to celebrate, not the least being their first real home together here in the States and the issuance of their official marriage license! I asked if I could come take advantage of their newlywed glow for some portraits and they gladly accepted.

Boutique boutique

I have the pleasure of working part-time at Boutique boutique on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville. It's a lovely small business owned and operated by some really special people. Below are some shots of some shoes, jewelry, and clothing currently in the store... marketing photography I suppose you could call it?

Saturday evening on the farm

This weekend I tagged along with my boyfriend Patrick to the farm where he works. I have a weakness for horses- they are such beautiful, graceful animals with an enormous amount of power packed into their frames. Not to mention they have adorably soft noses :)

Jack, Kristen, and Andy

A few more photos from my visit to the home of baby Jack and his parents, Kristen and Andy. I've really enjoyed seeing Kristen and Andy as parents- so kind and affectionate, and just as level-headed and fun-loving as they've always been. Jack is an adorable, healthy baby and is lucky to have the parents he does!
